Juan German joined the Foreign Service in 2015. He is currently the Cultural Attache at the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Austria. His most recent assignment was the Assistant Cultural Attache for Exchanges, Education, and Entrepreneurship, and the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Council at the U.S. Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Previously, he was the Press Attache and Spokesperson for the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Vice Consul in Beijing, China. Juan was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Rhode Island. Juan holds a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College. Juan is fluent in Spanish, Italian, and German and has conversational Mandarin and Vietnamese.
